I've recently returned to London from a small island off the coast of Thailand, called Koh Lanta,
after spending ten days at the wonderful Kaw Kwang Beach Resort. I had an awesome time with my daughter, sister, brothers, nieces and nephews, plus a few family friends.
This is the view from my bungalow.
Food was so cheap and very delicious. Pad Thai with shrimps and a bottle of Singha beer cost about £2.
I practically lived on Pad Thai. Pad Thai with beef, Pad Thai with chicken, Pad Thai with vegetables, Pad Thai with seafood... I'll have to find the recipe now so I can make it at home.
I did try other Thai dishes too. Eating out is very cheap, especially if you stick to Thai food.
Western food can be quite expensive by comparison.
We went on the Koh Lanta 4 Island Tour, which included snorkling, visiting the Emerald Cave, picnicking on an amazing beach and enjoying the most beautiful sights.
I had three Thai massages during my stay, which was very theraputic indeed and costing between six and eight pounds each. We went on an elephant trek, which was actually very scary and met lots of wonderful people. The staff were always happy and very friendly and I will be staying in touch with some of them.
It was very sad to leave Thailand and hopefully I will be able to return there again one day.
In my next post I'll show you some of the bargains I brought back.
