Revamped Pin Boards

16 August 2011

I've finally got around to revamping my pinboards after my daughter picked up a roll of vinyl wallpaper, for fifty pence, at our local charity shop. It didn't take long to do and I think they look rather pretty.

My nephew, from Milton Keynes, came to stay for the weekend, which was very enjoyable. He's almost a month older than my daughter, and it's lovely to see that they get on so well together. Our evenings were spend playing wii party games and having a right laugh trying to hit the correct notes on Singstar.

I have just finished reading Fallen by Lauren Kate, which I'd already read about a year ago, but it was such a brilliant read that I couldn't resist reading it again. I need to get the next book in the series.
The story begins when Luce, the main character, arrives at a new school under mysterious circumstances and meets a boy who she is drawn to and who she is sure she has met before. Although this book is aimed at the teenage girl who's into dark romance, I'm in my 40's and still thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hope you have a wonderful week!

  1. I love your revamped pinboard. I've seen other bloggers cover theirs with fabric but never with wallpaper. Did you stick it on? Is it hardwearing do you think? Sorry for the questions but it's such a fabulous idea that I might have to copy! You have a good week now. xx

  2. Hi Loo, the smaller frame was easier as I was able to tuck the paper under the frame and secure with a little glue. The larger one didn't have a ridge, so I cut it to size and glued the sides down. As for hardwearing, I reckon it would last a while and when it get's grubby I'll just replace it xx

  3. Love the pin board idea - if you cover it with a glossy finish or vinyl paper you could use it as a white board too.

I've been partnered with you for the Autumn Swap so, I'll e-mail you in awhile and we can have a 'natter' about our loves and likes etc.
I had a bit of a funny turn when I logged on to your blog, it was the wallpaper you had for your pin board updates...it is so similar to some peel n'stick fabric that my Sis gave me, that she bought in the U.S years ago! How does that music go...ner ner ner ner....
